Community Services
The Community Services Mission is:
- To provide resources, develop and actively support programmes which empower the community and voluntary sector in the Derry City Council area, prioritising work in areas of social need.
- To identify the needs of the local community and, working in partnership with other sectors,
- To encourage and support existing and new initiatives.
- To develop and organise a programme of Events and Festivals which engages local people, attracts visitors to the area, and works jointly with relevant agencies.
The section is responsible for a range of services:
- Area Community Development
- Neighbourhood Renewal
- Good Relations/Community Relations
- Women’s Programme
- Events and Festivals
- Community Centres and Neighbourhood Facilities Management
- Advice Services
- Grant Aid
- North West Cluster Rural Development Programme
