Marriage/ Civil Partnership Schedule

When the registrar is satisfied that there is no legal impediment to the Marriage/ Civil Partnership, they will prepare a Marriage/ Civil Partnership schedule based on the information provided.

No Marriage or Civil Partnership can proceed without this document therefore it is vital that all information is provided correctly and on time.

Religious Ceremonies

Either the bride or groom must attend before the marriage to collect the Marriage Schedule.  The Marriage Schedule must be given to the religious officiant before the marriage.  Immediately after the ceremony the schedule must be signed by both spouses, by the person solemnising the marriage and the two witnesses.  Thereafter you must arrange for it to be returned to the Registrar within 3 working days so that the Marriage can be registered.

Civil Ceremonies

The registrar does not issue this schedule in advance but it is available for signature at the ceremony, subsequently registering the marriage/ civil partnership.

The Marriage/ Civil partnership certificate will then be available from the Registrar’s Office for a small fee.
