Good Times
Hallowe’en is a time to be with friends.
Get organised and follow this simple plan to help you enjoy Hallowe’en safely and sensibly.
Enjoy the Night Safely and Sensibly
- Drinking alcohol doesn’t need to be part of your night.
- For young people, drinking Alcohol is harmful as your body is still developing. Binge drinking makes you ill and damages your health. You are at greater risk of accidents and assaults. It makes you unsafe. It ruins your night as well as others.
- The police will be monitoring and seizing alcohol from anyone under 18.
- It’s ok not to drink. The longer you delay drinking alcohol the less likely it is you will have problems in your later life.
Alcohol Free Zones
Zone-in and become part of the largest street event in Ireland. The areas along the Riverfront bring you safely to the centre of the Carnival music, parade and fireworks.
Meeting Points and Event Marshals
Before you go into the city centre arrange a meeting point with friends. Large crowds can confuse and it’s good to know where to go if you become separated from your group. The alcohol free zones have over 200 marshals and you can ask them for help and assistance.
Identification needed
Pubs, clubs and off-licences will all check for ID on Hallowe’en night The “Only 5” types of identification that will be accepted in these licensed premises are a driving licence, passport, electoral registration card, Citizencard and Republic of Ireland National Age Card. No one under 18 will be able to gain entry and all identification will be checked. If they cannot recognise you from identification due to your costume you will be turned away.
