Poster Competition

Derry City Council would like to invite Secondary School pupils to take part in a poster competition being held as part of the Carnival Care campaign for this year’s Banks of the Foyle Hallowe’en Festival.

The purpose of the art competition is two-fold: to make teenagers aware of the Carnival Care message to enjoy Hallowe’en safely and sensibly and to produce some artwork that can be used to decorate the walls of the Parent’s Centres which will be located at Pilot's Row Community Centre and Wesley Hall, Carlisle Road on Hallowe’en night.

Competition Conditions

  • The theme of the art competition, is •Best Hallowe’en Ever”.
  • The winning entry must clearly demonstrate the theme of the Carnival Care Campaign (ie) “Enjoy Hallowe’en Sensibly and Safely”.
  • The Posters must be A3 size and can be drawn, painted or generated electronically and can use photos etc (subject to copyright).
  • Entries must be submitted from your school.
  • A maximum of 5 entries can be submitted from each school.
  • The competition will be judged by renowned Artist Dr Denise Ferran.

The posters will be displayed at the Parent’s Centres and you and your parents are more than welcome to come along to see them from 5.30 pm - 10 pm on Hallowe’en night.

Entries need to be submitted by 5 pm on Friday 23rd October 2009 to Derry City Council Offices, 98 Strand Road, Derry.

The competition is open to pupils from all secondary schools in the Derry City Council area and prizes will be:

1st Prize£80 voucher
2nd Prize£50 voucher
3rd Prize£30 voucher
